Located in the Palette AOC within Provence, about 20 miles north of Marseilles, this domaine has been in the Rouguer family for over 200 years. Having a virtual monopoly in the area, they are one of southern France’s few Grand Crus. They farm organically and this wine is aged in wooden barrels for 2 years before bottling. A blend of mostly Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault (with a handful of other local varieties), it is a powerful, yet elegant and complex red that is full of violets, leather, and tobacco, with robust tannins. We recommend decanting this one!
